Marcus Found Rest, Food, and a Way Forward
This Is Why Sox Place Stays Open
Hey Friends,
Jordan here from Sox Place.
Marcus has been coming to Sox Place since he was about 19. Over the years, he has been on and off the streets, struggling with homelessness, drugs, and the kind of crowds that can pull a person deeper into survival mode.
But Marcus said something that really matters.
He said Sox Place has always been a place he could turn back to. A place where he could feel safe. A place without trouble, drama, or stress. A place where he could rest, eat, get resources, and ask for help when he was ready for it.
For a lot of the young people who come through our doors, change does not happen all at once. Sometimes it takes years. Sometimes they disappear and come back. Sometimes they are not ready until they are ready. But when they do come back, Sox Place is still here.
Marcus said he wants to get sober, get off the streets, and help others do the same. He talked about how many people are dying, overdosing, and getting lost out there. And then he said what we say all the time.
Sox Place is like one big family.
This summer has been a slower season for donations, and we could use your help to keep this family strong. Your gift helps us keep feeding people, offering a safe place to rest, giving out resources, and staying here for people like Marcus when they are ready to take the next step.
